Want a quick summary of Silently?
Her needs. His limits. White-hot chemistry and anguished desire. The promises and costs of a shared future.
Award-winning novelist Quinn Layborn lost her muse the day her husband died. Still mourning more than a year on, the last thing she wants is a second chance. At writing or love. Tonight, as dinner guests gossip in her breezy beach house – her agent's intervention – she arms herself with a full glass of red wine: Don't come close.
Until a raw and undeniable craving shatters her isolation.
Cable network travel-show host Jonathan Jaines still struggles with the terrible mistake that ruined his marriage. Tonight, he watches Quinn move among the guests like a ghost. When she stuns him with the words she whispers in his ear, he cannot say no.
From an eastern Long Island hamlet to a posh Manhattan dungeon, Quinn and Jonathan push boundaries. But as passion and the risk of heartbreak grow, how far will they go?
With equal parts emotion, kink and heat, Silently is at its heart a story about the unexpected bonds that help us heal.
And here's the TL;DR version:
One brazen move. Two simple rules.
From an eastern Long Island hamlet to a posh Manhattan dungeon, Quinn and Jonathan push boundaries. Between pleasure and pain, bondage and release, control and surrender. But as desire, feelings, and the risk of heartbreak grow, as their pasts and potential future collide, just how far will they go?

The story is getting some nice early praise. Publishers Weekly BookLife Prize reviewers called the book “a wonderful story” and “a unique work with fascinating characters drawn together as they individually recover from profound loss.”
Silently also won the “Virgin” – pre-published – category of the Passionate Ink Passionate Plume contest. (No trophy for this one; I was honored to receive an engraved spanking paddle.)
In the back of the book, there’s an author’s note that talks about how the story came to be:
Believe it or not, this story started out as a dream. I woke up and wrote the opening scenes before they faded from memory. It was a short story—Jonathan and Quinn didn't even have names yet. I set it aside, but my thoughts kept drifting back to it....I so wanted to know how their story unfolded. Which meant there was only one way to find out.
I really fell in love with these characters, and even after the first book was finished, I couldn’t let them go. But more about the rest of the series another time.
Silently releases on December 6 in ebook format and – whisper nice things to the supply chain gods and cross fingers 🤞🏼 – paperback.
